Coronation Street’ star Jack Shepherd had to be removed from a bar by four bouncers after a heavy drinking session. The 19-year-old was found slumped in the corner of a bar after downing 20 shots of sambuca. The British actor – who plays David Platt – was at a trendy bar in Liverpool with other soap stars, including Ryan Thomas who plays Jason Grimshaw in Corrie. Furious bar staff ordered Jack out of the club after fellow revellers raised the alarm. one female partygoer says, “It got to the point where people were almost walking over him as he was slumped in the corner. He was unable to speak or say anything and by the end he couldn’t even open his eyes. All his mates ended up shouting at each other about what to do with him.” The eyewitness adds, “The bouncers were having none of it and bundled them out a back exit. Jack couldn’t walk so he had to be carried out. He looked barely conscious of what was going on.” A Coronation Street spokeswoman says, “It was high jinks and he had a sore head to show for it the next morning. He wasn’t in work the next day.” [27 March 2007]
