In a move that shows he wouldn’t make a good casting director, Cate Blanchett has revealed her husband once told her she’d soon be too old to be starring in movies.
The Aussie ‘Robin Hood’ star has revealed her playwright husband Andrew Upton predicted she had only a limited amount of time to make hit films after her first breakout performance.
Says Cate, “oy husband keeps me really honest. I remember him saying to me after I made ‘Elizabeth’, ‘Sweetheart, you’ve probably got about five years.’ While we’d be seeing red, Cate (41) takes her husband’s advice in good grace. ‘He was preparing me for the time when the work dries up, as it invariably does,” she says.
With four more movies in pre-production, including an upcoming adaption of ‘The Hobbit’, we don’t think Cate has anything to worry about just yet!
