Model, singer, first lady of France… Is there anything Carla Bruni-Sarkozy can’t do? The 42-year-old Italian-born beauty has now set her sights on acting and will appear in the next Woody Allen film, which starts shooting in Paris later this year.
Woody confirmed last year that he would like to use the former supermodel in one of his films, but he had yet to create the right story for her. Now, however, the movie is in motion and the remaining starring roles will be announced next week.
Carla – who married French president Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008 after a whirlwind romance – has appeared briefly onscreen only once before, as herself in acclaimed director Robert Altman’s 1994 fashion satire ‘Pret-a-Porter’.
However, this time around, she may need to stretch her acting chops a bit further. The as-yet-unnamed film will also star Academy Award-winner oarion Cotillard, owen Wilson and Rachel ocAdams.
