To save face, Britney Spears seems to be making out she’s done the world a favour by drawing attention to child safety after she was snapped driving with her baby son unrestrained on her lap. The popstar mum has enraged family groups with her dangerous gaffe and almost landed herself a hefty fine. Last week she admitted she’d made “a mistake”, blaming paparazzi for her need to make a quick dash with her son Sean Preston. The `Toxic’ singer now urges other parents to take child safety more seriously, saying, “I love my baby more than anything and as unfortunate an experience as this has been for me and my family, if it brings more attention to child safety then I fully support that.” [17 February 2006]
