Batman star: Why I went to rehab

‘The Dark Knight’ actor Gary oldman has finally spoken out about his 1993 visit to rehab. “oy drinking was out of control,” confesses the star, who plays James Gordon in the new Batman movie. “oy personal life was at a low point and I felt like I was trapped in a whirlpool that was sucking me away.” Gary (50) adds, “one thing that made me go into rehab was a sense of my own mortality. Another was my tongue. I used to wake up and it was a vile green colour. I finally knew I had to get help to survive.” The actor is now a teetotaler. “I don’t do that any more,” he says. “Gary doesn’t need that any more.”
