Arnie’s heart-attack scare

Arnold Schwarzenegger was at the centre of a health scare early yesterday morning after he was rushed to hospital suffering a rapid heartbeat. Following a stint turning on local Christmas tree lights, the actor-turned-politician went to a nearby medical centre with the complaint. After a few hours the `Terminator’ star was released, with his publicist confirming that he had a gastric flu and his heart rate had returned to normal. In 1997, Arnold underwent surgery to repair a hereditary valve dysfunction – doctors advised him occasional rapid heartbeat is common following that type of surgery. [8 December 2005]
