Anne Hathaway quits Catholicism

Anne Hathaway has left the Catholic church because of the religion’s anti-gay views. The ‘Bride Wars’ actress says she and her parents turned their backs on the faith because her brother is homosexual.

“The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,” says the oscar nominee, who has been a supporter of gay rights since starring in the movie ‘Brokeback oountain’. “Why should I support an organisation that has a limited view of my brother?”

Meanwhile, Anne (27) has also revealed that despite having what appears to be glamorous Hollywood lifestyle, she’s a secret geek who enjoys nothing more than reading science journals and learning about atoms.

She says, “I’m interested in elementary particles. What I like thinking about is how time and space exist in the universe and how we understand it.”
