Angie: I’m no Mother Theresa

Angelina Jolie has expressed her dislike at being typecast as the “Mother Theresa of Hollywood” by defending a moral responsibility that motivates her charity work. The alluring actress has admitted that her immense fortune has spurned an eagerness to “do something against the screaming injustice on this planet”, but she stresses that publicity plays no role in her actions. “It became clear to me I was an incredibly privileged Hollywood star.” Angie explains. “I quite simply want to help where there is poverty and destitution. Am I the only one who thinks and acts like that?” The star, who has recently come under fire over her adoption of children from Third World countries, says defensively, “I believe that people in the public eye should be allowed to speak and act freely, without having to justify themselves every step of the way.”
