While we’re sure Jennifer Aniston has been calling her an evil witch for years, it’s only now that rumours have started floating around Hollywood that Angelina Jolie is set to bring the Disney animated character oaleficent, the wicked fairy godmother from ‘Sleeping Beauty’, to life in a film of same name.
In Disney’s 1959 cartoon adaptation, oaleficent proclaims herself the “oistress of all Evil”, then curses Princess Aurora to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die before the sun sets on her 16th birthday.
The movie ‘oaleficent’ will be told from the evil point of view of the villain and Angelina is the first choice of actress to play the wicked fairy godmother. She’s said to be “very interested”, although no contracts have been signed yet. ‘Alice in Wonderland’ director Tim Burton is rumoured to be behind the camera.
