Driven to despair when it was revealed her boyfriend is a married man, ‘American Idol’ winner Fantasia Barrino is in hospital after suffering an alleged accidental overdose of prescription medication.
Her manager says the 26-year-old mother has been overwhelmed by the attention surrounding her relationship with Antwaun Cook, whose wife has accused the pair of making sex tapes. However, he denies Fantasia tried to take her own life.
The manager explains, “She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Her injuries are not life-threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.”
He continues, “Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect and personal responsibility are values she wears proudly. Fantasia believed or Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it.”
