‘The Birds’ actress Tippi Hedren is urging fans to honour Michael Jackson by donating to her charity, which helps exotic animals. The Hollywood legend, whose daughter is Melanie Griffith, adopted Michael’s two tigers, Thriller and Sabu, after he was forced to give up his private zoo at Neverland Ranch. Tippi has been looking after the tigers at her animal sanctuary, which is home to 68 tigers, lions and other big cats. The actress informed Michael’s tigers of his death, saying, “You don’t know what mental telepathy exists from the human to the animal. But I hope they understood.” She’s hoping Jackson fans will join her campaign to bring in a law banning big cats being kept as pets. According to Tippi, nearly 600 people have been killed or maimed by captive big cats in the US in the last five years. “We’re hoping very much that people will wake up and say, of course, it’s nonsense to keep these animals as pets.”
