Survivor host Matt Chisholm’s baby news

He missed the birth of his first child, but he's determined it won't happen a second time!

It’s baby number two for Survivor New Zealand host Matt Chisholm! In an exclusive interview with Woman’s Day, Auckland-based Matt shares the happy news that he and wife Ellen are expecting a little brother for their 15-month-old Bede. Ellen is 21 weeks along, and their second child is due in April next year.

Besotted dad Matt, 41 – who married Ellen, 33, two years ago – is absolutely chuffed with the family news, and the Fair Go reporter declares that this time he is determined to be at the birth. When Bede arrived, he was held up filming Survivor in Nicaragua and missed the big moment! But he insists nothing will keep him from the delivery suite this time.

“I’d have to be the unluckiest man on the planet to miss both my boys’ births,” he declares.

While they’re both glad to share their news, they’ve waited until the five month mark to go public because the pregnancy has been a bit of a bumpy ride for the couple. A medical scare at 12 weeks saw Ellen rushed to hospital. Thankfully, all was eventually well but Ellen has had to take it easy and is taking every precaution to ensure a safe pregnancy.

“Our little guy is doing really well now, thank God – he gave us quite the scare,” says Ellen.
