In the interests of full disclosure, one new mum has shared the harsh reality of breastfeeding.
Instagram user Chi Chi shared a split screen of her before and after breastfeeding – showing the dramatic difference in her breasts.
In the first image, Chi Chi’s breasts can be seen engorged, the blood vessels protruding through her skin. And in the second – after pumping a whopping 1.1 litres out of them – they look dramatically smaller.
According to Chi Chi, she has a natural over-supply of milk, and produces much more than the usual 100-150mls per go.
As the new mum puts it “sometimes breastfeeding looks like this,” and she wants to share the truth to get women educated about feeding.
Chi Chi runs a non profit organisation: Chi Chi’s Magic Milk, that promotes breastfeeding through education and support, with an emphasis on milk sharing.
