As a working mum with twin girls, life for Amy Madden can be hectic. So being organised is key.
The launch of the My Food Bag Express Bag has been a game-changer for Amy.
She still enjoys the pleasure of cooking and learning new skills, but the pre-chopped veges, ready-made sauces and ingredients ready to throw into the pan mean she can have a nutritious dinner on the table in less than 30 minutes.
And it’s been ideal for getting the twins to try different meat and veges.
“It’s been hard to keep up with cooking when I can’t spend as long on it. But with Express Bag I’m more organised so I can still cook gorgeous meals without it taking up too much of my time – or sanity!” she says.
If you are struggling to be more organised in the kitchen, here are some tips:
Set aside a day to empty your fridge, freezer and pantry. Wipe all surfaces and check everything that is put back is still within its use-by date.
Invest in storage containers, and label everything you put into them. Not only will it keep your food fresh, it will make it easy to see at a glance what stocks need replenishing.
Organise your pantry shelves like a library – group the same sorts of things together.
Keep bench space clear. Why not hang calendars, to-do lists and other basics on a kitchen notice board?
To save the dreaded after-dinner clean-up, tidy as you cook. Wipe down, and keep things clean while making dinner will save you time – and a fight over whose turn it is to do the dishes!
Read recipes from top to bottom before you start cooking. You’ll know exactly what you need to do, and when, which should help avoid any stress.
