As every parent knows, getting your baby to take medicine is not as easy as it looks.
Often more runs down their chin than gets in their mouth and if they don’t like the flavour, forget it. They’ll be spitting that precious stuff out.
So when mum Helena Lee from the United Kingdom shared her trick for getting your baby to take their medicine on Facebook, her post quickly went viral.
She had been trying for 24 hours, with no luck, to get her little son Alfie to take Calpol. And then she remembered a trick she’d seen somewhere before…
She took the syringe that comes with the medicine (you’re advised to syringe the liquid slowly into their mouths from the side) and instead of syringing the Calpol directly into her son’s mouth she put the syringe into the nipple of her baby’s bottle and administered the medicine that way.
She said in her post:
“So for the last 24hours ive struggled to get alfie to take calpol, he has ended up covered in half of it where he spits it at me……
Then i remembered seeing this trick..
Not 1 bit got wasted 👌👌 and no tears 👌👌
please feel free to share with any baby mummies you know xxxxx”
Her post obviously went down well with other parents as it’s been shared more than 120,000 times!
Power to parents sharing useful information.
