Finding drugs in their teen’s bedroom ranks pretty high on the list of parental nightmares – but this mum was pleasantly surprised when she went through her daughter’s things.

A 16-year-old teenager named Ashley Banks screengrabbed the text exchange between her and her mum and it’s gone viral.

Ashley texted her mum asking her to find her calculator and put it in the mailbox so someone can pick it up.

But while her mum was looking for it, she was furious to find a clear zip lock bag with coloured pills in it.

“Ashley Carol I will not have drugs in my house,” she angrily text her daughter.

She demanded Ashley come home immediately, telling her she’s grounded, but her daughter thinks the situation is hilarious.

She told her mum to put the pills in water and see what happens.

While her mum was reluctant at first, she finally conceded.

It turned out, the tablets were actually ‘grow your own dinosaurs’.
