If you’re planning on getting pregnant, you may want to get the man in your life to start eating raspberries, especially if he’s over 40.
The berry fruit contains high levels of vitamin C, a key nutrient in male fertility, and also magnesium, which is involved in the production of testosterone.
Raspberries are also thought to protect sperm from “oxidative stress”, which can affect fertility. A US study has found that men aged over 44 with the highest intake of vitamin C had 20% less damage to their sperm DNA than men who didn’t eat those foods.
