As anyone who has a young child understands, nothing is safe from their curiosity.
Whether it be your keys, your wallet, a plug socket or a door latch, it seems tiny tots just can’t help but mess with the world around them.
So rather than spend an eternity dragging his toddler away from such objects, one ingenious father created a special board to occupy his child.
Imgur user ‘teachezofpeachez’ mounted wheels, hinges, toilet rolls and key chains on a piece of wood, all within reach of his kid, meaning he can play happily without any risk of harm.
The sensory or ‘busy board’ has been tipped as a great way to keep kids stimulated, but can also be used for patients suffering with dementia.
And although many parents have praised the ingenious invention, some have warned the items on the board could be a risk to children.
One Imgur user wrote: “I know it’s “brilliant” and all – but half of these things are things I definitely don’t want my children trained to play with.”
But others hit back, saying the benefits of the busy board were significant.
“So multisensory! And all those motor skills he’ll be practising! I’d give this a solid 5/7,” wrote another Imgur user.
