Little Lilah Grace Simmonds has caused a sensation after she was born tipping the scales at a whopping 5.5kg (almost 12 pounds) – the same size as the average three-month-old.
Proud dad Michael, 22, who lives in Wales, says people were flocking to their delivery room just to get a peek of the “big baby”.
“The midwife said they only get a baby that size about once every three years and normally by C-section, not natural birth,” he said.
“They just couldn’t believe it and all the nurses started coming over to see Lilah because of her size.”

The baby bundle arrived last Friday eight days overdue after mum Emma, 25, experienced just an hour of labour. In fact, first-time mum Emma seemed quite relaxed about the whole thing.
“It was all over so quickly. It only lasted around 45 minutes and I don’t think I even had time to feel the pain,” she told Wales Online. Michael added that just before Lilah was born, Emma was dancing around to songs playing on the radio.
Baby Lilah is also being the perfect baby, unbelievably sleeping through the night already, says dad.
“Lilah’s amazing,” Michael said. “She sleeps nine hours straight and she just doesn’t cry. She’s the perfect baby.”
