Five easy Easter treats to make with your kids

Easter is fast approaching, and we’ve got plenty of ideas to get your little ones busy in the kitchen!

Wonderfully sweet and fluffy, these hot cross buns are delicious served warm drizzled with maple syrup and fresh fruit. This dish makes a delicious breakfast or dessert – something the kids are sure to love!

Chocolate Easter freckles

Your little ones will love having a hand in baking and decorating these cute treats, which can be made in the shape of any cookie cutters you have on hand. Simply bake the bickies, smother in melted chocolate and sprinkle liberally with hundreds and thousands!

Mini choc chip hot cross scones

A twist on the classic hot cross bun, these chocolatey scones make the perfect addition to any Easter feast. There are a few extra steps needed to get the dough just right, so stick close by in case your kids need a hand with any of the more difficult parts of the recipe.

Easter egg rocky road

With marshmallows, Turkish delight and biscuits, this particular treat makes good use of all the Easter eggs your children are sure to pick up in their haul this year! A quick tip for this one – when adding the chopped biscuits to the chocolate mixture, avoid using the fine crumbs to ensure a better result.

Easter crackle nests

With just four ingredients needed to whip up this tasty treat, these Easter crackle nests are a great option if you’re running low on time or your little ones need more supervision in the kitchen. You can also assemble these up to two days ahead, leaving you more time to plan the rest of your Easter festivities.
