Homeless man’s life changed after couple’s random act of kindness

He offered them a coat and duvet after they missed their train. Then they returned the favour.

Young couple Charlotte Ellis and Taylor Walden were stranded after they missed their train at Covent Garden in London.

Shivering, they heard a voice behind them, saying: “You can borrow my coat and duvet if you want? It’s a long wait and it’s freezing tonight.”

A homeless man called Joey had witnessed the couple’s plight and was offering them his warmest belongings.

So touched by this random act of kindness, they got chatting and Charlotte invited Joey to share their taxi back to her mum’s place to get a hot shower and meal.

She explained via Facebook:

Amazingly, after just five days, Charlotte says Joey has been able to find a job and is off the streets. Joey is staying with Charlotte’s friends Jenni Kiri and Bradley Munro, and has started working with Bradley, as the pair help him get a new birth certificate and passport.

“All my friends and family initially thought we were crazy and thought the worst,” she told the Mirror.

“After we introduced them to Joey they all loved him instantly because he is honestly such a genuine guy.”
