Alana Duran was diagnosed with Lupus – a potentially life-threating autoimmune disease – at the age of 12. When she was younger, she had a hip replacement, suffered from heart failure, had a pacemaker implanted, went into kidney failure and ultimately has to have dialysis as a result. She has been patiently waiting for a kidney transplant since 2011.
In this video, Duran’s girlfriend Lori Interlicchio – who she met on Tinder – gives her a care package that includes a selection of amazing treats and a few of her favourite things like lollies, Star Wars stationary, snacks and lip balms. Finally, when she reaches the bottom, she finds out on a Tinder-esque “It’s a match!” poster that Interlicchio is able to be her kidney donor.

“Who knew that when we both swiped right on Tinder that day, that we would be more than just girlfriends but that she would be my kidney donor!” Duran wrote on her Facebook post for the announcement video which has now gone viral.
“It’s so funny how things work out. Both of us going into this relationship not expecting anything out of the ordinary. It’s just so amazing to me that she was willing to get tested and now she’s super excited to donate one of her kidneys to me. Lori, I love you so much and I’m so excited that we get to do this together.”
