A 20-year-old student is auctioning off her virginity, to raise funds for her to study overseas.
Russian woman Ariana is selling her virginity on an escort website, in the hope she can raise the money to study medicine in a foreign country of her choice.
And after looking into the options, Ariana decided the quickest way to raise the money she needed would be through selling sexual services.
Bids for taking her virginity start at over $200,000.
Ariana says she has waited a long time to give her virginity to someone important, but now says: “Why should I lose my virginity to someone who could then break my heart later?”
She is not the first woman to try and auction of her virginity for money. Since the 90s there have been numerous cases where women have offered similar exchanges – though it’s worth noting not a single one of them has been proven to be completed.
In 2014, American medical student Elizabeth Raine announced she would auction off her virginity to raise money for charity – but after being offered over $1 million, she backed out at the last minute.
