Oprah Winfrey’s upbeat and optimistic outlook has won her millions of fans.

But her latest comments addressing Donald Trump’s presidency haven’t resonated well with everyone.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the talk show queen admitted she felt reassured when she saw President Elect Donald Trump meet with Barrack Obama at the White House.

“I just saw the two of them together, I will say this: I just saw President-elect Trump with President Obama in the White House and it gave me hope,” she explained to ET.

“To hear President-elect Trump say that he had respect for President Obama, it felt that he had reached a moment where he was actually humbled by that experience.”

“To hear President Obama say that he has renewed confidence in the peaceful transition, I think everybody can take a deep breath. Everybody can take a deep breath now! Thank you.”

Oprah, who backed Democratic leader Hillary Clinton during the campaign, also took to twitter to share her views.

“Everybody take a deep breath! #HopeLives!” The 62-year-old tweeted alongside a photo of Donald and Barack’s meeting.

Oprah says seeing Donald Trump meet with Barack Obama at the White House reassured her for the future.

However her sentiment was met with backlash.

“@Oprah How can we?? Racist assaults on Day 1 In Trump’s America by @Incilin. We cannot normalize him,” one user wrote.

“I used to have great respect for Oprah. (past tense),” another added.

“@Oprah You are too intelligent to believe that. With all due respect.”
