Model squad pose for new body-positive campaign

The I Am All Women Project is pushing for more diversity in the fashion industry

A new campaign, promoting diversity among women, aims to give the fashion industry a much needed shake-up.

The I Am All Woman project was created by Charli Howard, a British model, and Clementine Desseaux, a body-positive blogger.

Charli, herself a British model, came up against the industry’s preference for a certain body size, when she was told she was “too big” (she was a size six) to get work in the industry

The pair say it’s about time the fashion industry did more to promote diversity in terms of race, body type and age.

“We want all girls to see themselves represented, whether that be in size, share or colour,” Charli and Clementine told metro.co.uk.

“We wanted to create something that celebrates women and diversity and that represents girls of all different shapes, sizes and colours.

“We wondered why we didn’t see plus size and straight size girls model in the same fashion images, so decided we’d change that.”

The online campaign features a range of models including plus-size models Iskra Lawrence, Denise Bidot, and Barbie Ferreira, androgynous model Elliot Sailors, activist Shivani Persad, musician Leaf, rapper Victoria Brito, and former Miss Teen USA.

The women posed for a photoshoot and shared the photos on social media with the #IAmAllWoman tag, encouraging all women to share their photos.

Charli and Clementine hope the campaign will give women the representation they deserve while sending a strong message to the fashion industry.

“We plan on making more and more of these editorials and video projects with a lot more inspiring women of different ethnicities and messages.
