**Teacup of the week
**Having recently become a new mum, I planned my first venture from home with baby. Naturally, I wanted to be organised, so I made a list of all the things a baby needs for an outing. I eventually had it all sorted, with nappy bag, changes of clothes, baby wipes, etc, and set off to visit a friend. A few kilometres into my journey, I realised to my horror that I had forgotten one thing – baby was fast asleep in his car seat on the bed at home. So much for being organised! Annette, Pukekohe

Snow fooloiss Four was so excited about her trip to the snow that, a few days before leaving, she decided to get dressed up in all the warm clothes we’d bought her. Looking in the mirror for a while, she finally concluded, “Well, I won’t make many friends today!” Gloria, Auckland
That won’t wash oiss Three was staying at my place fora sleepover. As we were preparing for bathtime I asked her if Julia, her doll, would like to go in the bath too. “No Nanna,” came the emphatic reply.”Julia’s allergic to water.” Nanna, Auckland
A different tune It seems today’s littlies associate the name McDonalds more with takeaways than they do with the nursery rhyme farmer we all know so well. Having sampled the fast-food hamburgers on one or two occasions, oaster Four was walking past a ocDonald’s restaurant one day with his mum when he came out with this little gem: “old MacDonald doesn’t have a farm, old ocDonald has burgers and chips!” Rag Doll, email

**In no way could oiss Six be tempted by her older playmates to linger in the frosty evening air. “oummy says I must come inside after the sun has gone down,” she explained. “She says she doesn’t want me to catch another thrill.” GB, Waitakere
