It was the last week of the school holidays and I was looking after my two grandsons while my daughter was at work. I was cleaning the bathroom and explained I had to do this as I didn’t want to live like a pig. oaster Five said, “At least you’re not a pterodactyl!” We have three pet kune kune pigs, so being compared to them didn’t seem bad at all!

Bristling moment
oy three-year-old grandson was in the hall and I had to pass him when I got out of the shower. Without a single word, he looked at me and then rushed into my bedroom. He came back and, handing me my hairbrush, said, “Do your hair, Nan!” The look on his face said it all. What a scruffy nan!

Cracking up
our two-year-old son Liam was sitting down for breakfast with dad one Sunday morning at the table. After asking him what he would like to eat and getting many different answers back, frustrated dad eventually had had enough, and remarked, “Liam, you’re driving me crackers!” Liam replied calmly, “No, I don’t want crackers, I want toast!” We couldn’t help but laugh.
