Deirdre Black met Peter Gilmore at the Botanic Gardens on March 28, 2011 – exactly a year later, he proposed on the same seat where they met, and on their anniversary in 2013, the couple got married at Hampton Lea Gardens, just out of Christchurch.
Deirdre says, “We had a farming theme as Peter is a farmer. He and his groomsmen arrived in Peter’s tractors; my niece and nephew were page boy and flower girl and they came in on a toy pedal tractor.
“Our reception was at Melton Estate with each of the tables being named after a brand of tractor. It was an unforgettable day for the two of us that we will always cherish!”
