Bicycle-mad Byrdie and farmer Graham held a real country-style ceremony in Whangamata. Byrdie came down the aisle on a rickshaw (a three-seater passenger cart) with her father, and pedalled by her brother. When they got to the waiting groom, he negotiated with Byrdie’s father a price for his daughter – namely a cow called Daisy! It drew big laughs from the crowd and set a relaxed atmosphere for the rest of the day.
