Corporal Patrick Ray and 2-year-old Bexley Norvell had their adorable celebration in a park in Rowlett, Texas, to celebrate the anniversary of the day Ray saved Bexley’s life.

Professional photographer Chelle Cates captured the special moment, and shared the photos on Facebook.

On July 26, 2015, a then 22-month-old Bexley was found unable to breathe after she swallowed a coin. When Ray arrived, the little girl was unresponsive, but the quick-thinking officer cleared her throat and got her to breathe again.

“I won’t ever forget this man and I told his wife, ‘you know I’m going to think of your husband every single day for the rest of my life’, and I hope she’s okay with that,” Bexley’s mum Tammy Norvell told CBS DFW after the traumatic rescue.

Ray, who has two children, said all he could think about during the frantic moments was his family.

“What makes it special is from here on out, I get to see her grow up,” he said.
