Little boy’s adorable plea for lost jumper goes viral

Life can really blow being a kid sometimes.

The Chiefs rugby fan was distraught when he lost his jersey

One minute you’re having a blast, watching your rugby team, wearing your favourite sports jersey – and the next minute it has been cruelly taken from you while your back is turned.

Nicole Anderson and her son had just finished watching the Chiefs play Western Force when he spilt a drink on his jersey.

Taking it off, Nicole’s son dropped the jersey as the family left, and despite coming back to find it a security guard informed them two girls had picked it up.

Taking to social media, Nicole posted a heart-breaking snap of her son with tears in his eyes after losing his beloved sportswear.

“Can the two girls who picked up my son chiefs jersey please do the right thing and contact us,” the mum wrote on Facebook.

“He’s heartbroken his Xmas present is gone.”

And thanks to the beauty of social media, plus some very kind people working at Chiefs rugby, Nicole’s kid is about to get the best surprise yet.

Seeing Nicole’s Facebook post, The Chiefs team replies: “Hi Nicole, we’re sorry this happened to your little man at the game. We’d love to get a new jersey sent to him. We are sure our boys can sign it for him too. Is there an email we can reach you on to organise details and delivery? Thanks for your support tonight!”

And it wasn’t just the club who were keen to help the Anderson family out, with other fans offering to courier their jerseys to them to compensate the loss.

Proof that there really are some nice people around!
