Andrew Orr, “the life and soul of the party”, died in May this year from a four-wheel-drive accident.

The 23-year-old’s death left his friends and family “shattered”.

But they found solace in Ed Sheeran’s song Photograph.

With the singer in the country this week for a concert, Orr’s grieving friends and family have reached out to the British singer to thank him.

They have made a touching tribute video, holding photographs of themselves with Orr.

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you to Ed Sheeran for writing Photograph. You have no idea how it’s helped with our healing,” the group say in the video.

They are planning to attend Sheeran’s Auckland show on December 12, and would love to meet the singer to thank him personally.

“It is our son Andrew’s legacy son,” his mother Kristin Orr says in the video. “Every time our family and friends hear it, we think of Andrew.”
