I was listening to Southern Star Radio, which had a news item saying that a lady lit a candle in memory of Whitney Houston but ended up burning her living room – the flame set the curtains alight overnight. She had said, “I thought I had blown it out.” A few minutes later, the radio station played the old spiritual song Shut De Do, featuring a chorus with the lyrics “Light de candle, everything’s alright.”
