I recently told my grandson William (almost three) that on that particular day it was the birthday of his deceased grandpop (who had passed away six months prior to William’s birth). William’s eyes lit up at the word “birthday”. As I continued the story of grandpop getting sick and dying, and that he would not see grandpop again, William said, “sad”. I then said, “Grandpop is now a star in the sky.” William slowly looked up to the sky and said, “Or a duck!”
