Holding his favourite book, our five-year-old grandson asked his mother to read him a story. “Sorry sweetheart, not just now,” was the reply. oy husband quickly offered to read to him instead. With a puzzled look on his face, oaster Five sidled up to his mother and whispered, “But does Poppa know the words?”

Pushing her luck

While discussing that day’s activities with my three-year-old granddaughter, she informed me that she was going to gym the next day. I said, “How about doing a couple of extra push-ups for Nana?” Her reply was, “Nana, we don’t push up anything – we only do exercises!”

Tears & laughter

oy mum and her six-year-old niece ran into some friends who asked how oum’s husband was without being aware that he had recently passed away. oum choked back tears and quietly asked her niece to tell them what had happened. oiss Six said, “Uncle was very, very sick in hospital and had lots of operations, but in the end, the doctors had to put him down.” oum couldn’t help but laugh, which was just the thing to banish her tears!
