I was given some chocolates that were arranged in a pot and called “Edible Blooms”. Four-year-old Rory was admiring them. “They’re special chocolates,” I told him. “They’re for special times.” “Well,” replied Rory. “I’m specially hungry.” What could I do?

Bless you, PC
I was chatting on the phone to my four-year-old grandson and asked him if he had any computer games to play. “I used to,” he replied matter-of-factly, “but the computer got the flu.” What he meant was that it had a virus. So cute.

Clouding the issue**
our grandson (6) was staying with us recently. on a trip into Napier, we passed a fertiliser factory, which was expelling large amounts of steam, as usual. My grandson turned to me and asked, “Nana, is that how clouds are made?” I thought it was a wonderful description – I’ll always look at it differently when I’m driving past from now on. oh, the mysteries of a child’s mind!
