In the aftermath of the Paris attacks, Belgian police made a public safety announcement.
On the hunt for terror suspects, Belgian forces asked the public to stay indoors and away from windows.
They also told citizens to refrain from posting on social media about their armed operations.
It must have been a stressful time for the nation, but instead of a social media blackout, for solidarity Belgians flooded social media with pictures of cats.
Under the hashtag #BrusselsLockdown, people posted funny pictures of their furry friends in an attempt to shed a little light over the dark times.
