A shop owner in the north of England has given potentially the most British response to being robbed ever.
Karamjit Sangha runs a newsagents in Hull, Yorkshire, was taking a well-earned break to have a cup of tea when a drug user entered her shop waving a knife.
Stuart Gleeson entered the shop demanding cash as we waved a 7 inch kitchen knife at Karamjit, to which he was told to “relax” as she was having a cup of tea.
“He demanded I put it down and give him the money.
“I said ‘OK’ and picked up the craft knife and waved it at him. I wouldn’t have hurt him, but it was enough to scare him,” she said.
Stuart has now been found guilty of attempted robbery and possession of a knife following his trial last week. He has been jailed for a total of five years.
