The Advertiser reports that Kylie Anne Hie, 34, yesterday pleaded guilty to aggravated death by dangerous driving of her little girl Charlotte May-Grace in November 2013.

Hie, who had methamphetamine in her system, crashed her white van while trying to overtake a 40 tonne timer carrying semi-trailer and her toddler daughter was not properly strapped into the front seat.

She failed to overtake safely and smashed into the back of the semi. Charlotte died in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Hie, who has convictions for traffic offences including drink-driving, speeding and driving while disqualified, had claimed she suffered a seizure, but reportedly pleaded guilty after visiting her daughter’s shrine.
