Kiwi brides could be left out of pocket and without wedding dresses after an up-market Auckland bridal boutique closed it’s doors unannounced.
Primrose & Finch, which operated in Newmarket, Auckland, has gone into liquidation and the owners have left the country, the NZ Herald reports.
There are reports of at least five brides who have paid a deposit on a dress, with nothing to show for it as yet. One bride-to-be has paid a deposit of $1800 and only found out when her US-based designer – not the company’s owner – emailed her.
“You are putting all your faith in someone for the most important day of your life and they rip the rug out from under you,” the customer told the Herald.
She says her bank has refunded her deposit and the designer is still sending her dress.
The Melbourne Primrose & Finch store closed in May, with clients and staff reportedly owed money.
One former Aussie staff member reports dresses arriving in the wrong sizes, and even dirty.
Any affected New Zealand brides should contact the liquidator and/or their banks over any lost deposit.
