While the pressure of studying mounts on the school’s older students as NCEA exams creep closer – they start nationwide on November 9 – their teachers want them to “engage with pride and dare to succeed”.

A video of Fraser High’s teaching staff lip-syncing to Justin Timberlake’s hit Can’t Stop the Feeling was shot around the school, complete with some smooth dance moves.

“All the very best Year 11,12 & 13’s for your up-coming exams,” teacher Samuel Tan wrote beneath the video. “Engage with Pride and Dare to Succeed! From your family at Fraser.”

He said the home-made production was intended to be a tool to encourage the school’s students to give their up-coming exams their best.

“We just wanted to wish our seniors all the best for their exams,” Tan told the NZ Herald. “We’re really into school spirit and just reinforce that idea that they’re part of the Fraser family.”

The video was screened to students on Thursday at the school’s final assembly to a rapturous reception.
