He's a keeper!

A wedding photo shoot beside a river turned into a dramatic rescue scene when the groom noticed a little boy had fallen into the water.

The newly-married Canadian man quickly ran to the water’s edge and leapt into the river, suit and all, to pluck the little boy out. And his wedding photographer captured the whole scene, which unfolded on a park bridge in Ontario, Canada, on camera.

The photos have gone viral, and the Canadian newlyweds, Clayton and Brittany Cook, have become overnight real-life celebs, featuring on CTV News and in The Sun and other media outlets.

Clayton Cook told The Sun, “His face was underwater and he was fighting, like he was really fighting.

“Luckily, he was only a little guy … and I honestly just sort of hopped him up.”

It has been reported that the little boy had been following the couple and their photographer with a small group of children when one of the children pushed the little boy into the river.

The couple’s wedding photographer Darren Hatt wrote on Facebook: “By the time the bride noticed and shouted out, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety.

“His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim. Well done sir!”

Clayton and Brittany Cook – this image was taken shortly before the dramatic rescue.

Clayton’s bride Brittany, who had initially thought her groom was just jumping into the river as a joke, is naturally proud of her new husband.

“That’s Clay to me – it’s something he would just instinctively do,” she told CTV.

What a way to start married life – if her husband hadn’t already proven he was a keeper, he definitely has now!
