A man who donated his kidney to his date, after meeting her just four times, has now married her.

Mike Frias met Natalie Russo in 2014, after chatting over dating app Match.com.

The pair immediately felt a connection, but just days after their fourth date, Natalie was rushed to hospital with kidney failure.

Thinking her date would never stick around, Mike proved her wrong. After months of Natalie trying to get a donor – Mike decided to get tested to see if he was a match. As fate would have it, he was perfect.

“I would have done anything for her,” Mike explained to People magazine. “We met at the right time, and that’s just a testament that it was meant to be.”

The two 34-year-olds underwent transplant surgery on March 21 this year, and got married just a few months later in June.

Mike and Natalie met in Santa Barbara, California, in 2014, after feeling they weren’t meeting the right people through conventional dating.

They went for pizza on their first date, and then to a coffee shop to continue chatting.

“I fell more and more in love with her as the night went on,” says Mike, who explained Natalie’s bright green eyes were what attracted him to her profile.

But after a routine trip to the doctor led to Natalie being hospitalised, their blossoming romance was thrown into turmoil. “I wasn’t sure if Mike would stick around,” Natalie admits.

Over the next few months, as Natalie was in hospital, Mike visited her, and the couple fell in love.

Two years later, they married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by 80 guests, though they were unable to afford a honeymoon due to the medical costs incurred from the kidney ops.

But thanks to Match.com, the site over which they met, the couple were surprised during their ceremony and told they’d be off on a romantic trip to Fiji.

Isn’t that just the perfect love story?
