A loving husband has given his wife 500 roses to celebrate her final session of cancer treatment.

Brad Bousquet wanted to do something special to commemorate his wife Alissa’s final chemotherapy session.

In conjunction with the local flower shop, he encouraged friends and family to order roses and organised for the proceeds of these orders to go to breast cancer research.

Amazingly, the flower shop received an order of 500 roses, from 170 different families, and a total of $4500 was raised for breast cancer research.

“Alissa’s two teenage daughters and four close friends (AKA Alissa’s Crew) made the delivery,” Brad explained in a Facebook post.

“After presenting the rose baskets to my wife we shard them with the other cancer patients receiving treatment today as a gift from our family.

“The joy of sharing these roses with the other patients was one of my favourite parts.”

Brad wrote a card that he handed out with the roses, telling them: “I know too well what families face when they have a loved one touched by cancer.

“If there is one thing I have learned from this journey it is that the support of friends and family is priceless!

“Please consider these roses a bit of support from our family to yours.”

He signed off the letter from his entire family.
