Hugh Jackman and Debora-Lee Furness’ 21-year marriage is something of an anomaly in Hollywood, where it’s not uncommon for couples to be totally in love one minute, and heading for divorce the next.
Now, the Australian couple are opening up about the secret to their long-lasting union, and it might not be what you expect.
Stepping out for a charity event on Monday night, the duo had a simple answer to the question of what made their marriage work.
The couple have two adorable children together, daughter Ava Eliot and Oscar Maximilian.
“Meditation!” Hugh revealed, with Debora adding, “We meditate together. And sometimes we have friends over to do it, too. It’s a lovely Sunday-morning thing.
“Everyone comes over, and then we have breakfast.”
If it’s good enough for Australia’s golden couple, it’s good enough for us!
They’re not the only stars speaking out about the benefits of meditation, either. Speaking about her own meditation practice, Jennifer Aniston told PopSugar she found “a peaceful joy” from it.
“You find yourself interacting in the world much easier and better, in a calmer way… if I go through a phase where I slip off and I’m not as religious with it, I feel the difference,” she revealed.
Kristen Bell has also previously revealed she makes a habit of doing 10-minute meditative yoga sessions each morning, while Naomi Watts, Liv Tyler, and Katy Perry are also said to be devotees of the practice as well.
