What’s in for spring?

Colour your world with these brilliant new blooms

**Lavender Ruffles

**Lavender lovers rejoice! A new series with cute ruffled wings will steal your hearts this spring. ‘Boysenberry Ruffles’ has burgundy bracts with pale pink ruffled wings, ‘Blueberry Ruffles’ has dark violet bracts topped with purple ruffled wings and ‘Raspberry Ruffles’ sports cerise bracts topped with deep pink ruffled wings. All three grow into a compact 50cm-high bush and repeat-flower very quickly throughout the season.

Leptospermum “Andromeda” This exciting new manuka (Leptospermum) is a cross between the large-flowered Aussie species and our own prolific-flowering native species. The result is a spectacular 2m-tall upright shrub with long stems smothered in a mass of large pale-pink flowers, perfect for picking. New bluish-pink ‘Phoenix’ is also available.

**Delightful Delphiniums

**New Zealand-bred oillennium Delphinium ‘Dusky oaidens’ has just won a prestigious European Perennial Plant of 2008 award. But be quick, these deep mulberry-pink flowers with brown “bees” are in short supply this spring. Plenty of other oillennium Delphiniums will be available, all selected for their strong stems, enhanced colour and free flowering.

**Golden Gazanias

**For dry banks, sunny borders and coastal gardens, you can’t beat gazanias. Spring and summer bring on masses of gorgeous, garish daisy flowers – excellent for picking. New Gazania ‘Vesuvius’ is striking with its orange and yellow flowers. If you prefer more muted tones, go for new ‘Krakatoa’ in pink and cream. Available early November.
