Mug decorating with nail polish

Add a bit of colour and excitement to your morning cuppa with these gorgeous watercolour-inspired tea or coffee mugs, which are made from everyday kitchen and bathroom items.

Your step-by-step guide to mug decorating with nail polish:

For this mug decorating craft, you will need:

Coffee mugs

Nail polish remover – the acetone kind is best

Cotton pads or balls

Disposable container

Nail polish

Paper towels

Remove any labels or stickers from your mugs and wash and dry well. To ensure the outside is totally clean, wipe with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover.

Fill your disposable dish to two-thirds full with hot – but not boiling – water. Slowly drip nail polish into the water, allowing it spread out.

You can also use a toothpick to swirl the colour around.

Dip the mug into the water, rolling it so that the outside is coated evenly.

Lift the mug out and set it aside on a piece of paper towel to dry completely. Use a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover to take off any polish on the bottom

or the inside of the mug.

Drink your next cup of tea in style!
