It’s official. Breakfast’s Jack Tame has the most popular Christmas mince pie recipe in New Zealand – and maybe the most expensive.

The popular newsman took out the title in the battle of 14 Kiwi celebrities, who were taking part in the Baking Industry Association’s Christmas Mince Pies for Charity auction, which closed this morning.

Tame’s efforts came out on top – selling for $250, before the winner doubled the offer to $500, which will be donated to the Salvation Army.

Newshub’s Samantha Hayes raised $350 for her white chocolate and raspberry creations, with Tame’s Breakfast co-host Brodie Kane taking third place with $300.
