The aspect of this room I truly adore is the stunning use of colour – the soft, but strong, tones of pink and blue.
It’s quite a safe palette to start with, making it easier to bring in outside colours, such as greens, creams and yellows, with your accessories.
Experimenting with fabric is also fun and can become part of your new look. It’s amazing what’s on offer in terms of tapes, materials, ribbons, buttons and even colourful cottons – it’s a sewer’s wonderland out there!

Deer art $115 from Red currant, Keep Calm print $75 from Momentum Gallery+Framing, Pink heart $26.50 from Allium, Six-window photo frame $14 from The Warehouse, Letters $9 each from Alluim, Three knob hook $59 from Country Theme, Metal butterfly hook $22 from Country Theme, Pink jugs $46 (small) $59 (large) from Texan Art Schools, Budgies 424 from Republic, Eclectic coat hook $99 from Alluim, Ribbons $4.90 each from Kikki-K, Green and blue birds $34 from Macy Home, White stand $199.99 from The Warehouse.
When shopping for this room, there was an endless supply of goodies I could have used. I tend to gravitate towards items that are perfect for storage and work with my colour scheme. I’m instantly drawn to quirky pieces of art/ornaments, and jars full of buttons, pins, or even my favourite lollies!
One idea was to get some beautifully patterned scraps of fabric and frame a selection of them.
Choose shades that work well together to create a unique artwork that can be changed whenever you wish. As you can see, I found a frame with six windows at a crazy price.
