Catherine Zeta-Jones is known for her stunning style on the red carpet – but it turns out she’s quite the homemaker too.

Catherine has been giving her Instagram followers a look inside the lavish homes she shares with husband Michael Douglas and children Dylan, 18, and Carys, 15.

First, there’s their $10 million New York apartment which is located near central park and has stunning views across the Manhattan city skyline. And then there’s their larger $17 million home in Bedford, New York. The sprawling 13 acre estate dates back to 1895 and comes with a tennis court, guest cottage, swimming pool and Catherine’s very own “girl cave.”

The 39-year-old Oscar winning actress has recently launched her own homeware collection called Casa Zeta-Jones. It is available in the States through QVC, and she’s been promoting the brand on Instagram using the hashtag #StyleByZeta

With some of the images she offers her own styling tips. So here’s how you can recreate Catherine’s look – perhaps without that Manhattan skyline view though.

Their New York City apartment is quite traditional in style – with views of the city to die for.

Catherine is a big fan of using colour to liven up a space.

“Add a splash of colour to any room to add some life to it! Start small with a pillow or a painting and continue to highlight it throughout your space to add some personality,” she says.

Forget the man cave – the girl cave is the new must-have. “One of my favourite places to me. My girl cave,” she says.

While the lounge in their apartment has a traditional feel, the hallway is quite modern. Catherine likes to mix up her furniture style, blending old with new.

While she’s a big fan of colour, monochrome styling also has its place. “My monochromatic passion,” she calls it.

“Stand still long enough and I will start to collect you,” Catherine jokes of her love of blue and white china.

Even a style queen needs a bit of styling inspiration from time to time.

Even though she can afford anything she wants, Catherine isn’t above sewing her own drapes.

A nod to Catherine’s Welsh roots, Catherine proudly displays her Welsh Love Spoon collection.

The separate guest house in their Bedford residence has a relaxed, country vibe.

Catherine has spent a lot of time making over their Bedford residence, room by room. The family room features a huge semi-circle couch, perfect for extended family get-togethers.
